2017 Annual Campaign
Mel Leaman Free Clinic operates on grant funding and contributions from people like you. The continued support of our community is critical to ensure high-quality, accessible health care for low-income, uninsured residents of Smyth, Grayson, and Washington counties, Virginia.
Please consider donating to help us reach our 2017 Annual Campaign. The 2017 Annual Campaign supports our operating budget, necessary medical supplies, and new health care programs, including women’s health, dental hygiene, quarterly dental clinics, a new mobile medical unit, and more. Our total goal is $365,000, and we’ve already received approximately 45.8% of that target through contributions from the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, the Virginia Health Care Foundation, and Smyth County. Bookmark this page so you can check our progress throughout 2017!
How far does your dollar go?
On top of the value of the volunteer hours donated by health care professionals, the cost to treat patients is high.
• $260 = cost per patient per year (not counting donated medical care)
• $135 = average cost per visit per patient (not counting donated medical care)
Every dollar you donate to the clinic contributes to the high-quality health care that our patients receive. In addition to our current services, we are planning to offer new services to meet the growing needs of Smyth, Grayson, and Washington county residents. Please consider donating to support the operation and expansion of the clinic!
Or donations can be dropped off at the clinic or mailed to us at:
